When you meet Stellar (more affectionately known as Stelly or Stelly Belly), you will immediately understand how he got his name. He’s intelligent, loving, curious, obedient, silly and he’ll steal your heart instantly. On the cuddly scale, Stelly is an 8/10 and loves to snuggle up next to you in the mornings and evenings to sweetly request belly rubs. When he’s happy or excited his entire body wiggles will bring infectious joy. Stelly can be anxious and will whine when he’s separated from his foster parent, but has shown no destructive behavior when left alone for long periods of time.
Stelly is great on most walks and will walk towards the front door and stare and wag his tail when he needs to go out. He is making amazing progress with leash training with the help of treats, a clicker and some patience. He can be reactive towards large dogs and will pull hard towards them and all cats we pass on our walks. He’s friendly towards every person he’s met and will immediately want to become your friend, especially if you give him a treat.
Stelly loves playing with interactive toys, peanut butter and gnawing on flavored rawhide bones. He has shown some signs of resource guarding around his favorite toys, so it’s best to let him be when he’s playing with a toy or chewing on his favorite bone. He also is usually quiet, but he will bark sometimes when he hears the front door of the building or my neighbors in the hallways. He’s can usually be easily redirected when this happens.
Stellar will brighten up each and every day! He deserves a forever home (ideally in a quiet neighborhood with a private yard) and a family/parent that will return all the love he gives.
Stellar is approximately 4y 5m 16d old and is fully grown at 56 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.
Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.

Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
