River Run was one of 92 dogs rescued from a heartbreaking property in Mississippi—chained to makeshift fences, neglected, and robbed of the life every dog deserves. Despite the trauma, River never lost his gentle spirit. Today, he’s safe… but he’s still learning what it means to truly be loved. Shy but incredibly sweet, River is searching for a calm, experienced, adult-only home where he can feel safe and take his time to trust.

Friendly, people-focused and famously food-motivated, which makes training straightforward. Labs stay adolescent longer than many breeds and are often goofy well past their second birthday.
High needs — 60-90 minutes daily. Labs love retrieving and swimming, and an under-exercised Lab tends to get mouthy and destructive.
Can do well in an apartment if genuinely exercised. Size and shedding are the main constraints; most are elevator- and crowd-tolerant.
