Terrier mix · Sean Casey Animal Rescue
2 years, 5 months · Male · Brooklyn, NY
My name is Devlin.
I am a male, black Terrier mix.
I have been at the shelter since Jul 23, 2026.
Hi, I'm Devlin!
I'm a 2½-year-old terrier mix with lots of energy, lots of personality... and one important thing I'm still working on.
A couple of months ago, I was adopted, and I was so excited to have a home. Unfortunately, things didn't work out, and I've found myself back at the shelter.
The biggest reason?
I'm not housetrained yet.
Like many dogs, I wasn't born knowing that bathrooms belong outside. It's something I still need to learn, and I'll need a family that's willing to be patient, consistent, and help me understand the rules. With time, routine, and positive reinforcement, I know I can get there!
I'm an active guy who loves having things to do, so I'd really enjoy a family that's excited to spend time with me—not just teaching me good manners, but also taking me on walks, playing with me, and helping me become the very best dog I can be.
I've also been told that I'm not the biggest fan of little dogs and can be a bit barky around them. Dogs my own size or bigger, though? Those are much more my style!
Devlin isn't looking for a perfect family—he's looking for a committed one. Someone who understands that training takes time, celebrates the little victories along the way, and knows that the strongest bonds are often built through learning together.
If you're ready to invest in me, I promise to give you my whole heart in return.
Devlin is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Devlin will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption.
If you'd like to meet him please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus. We're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm.
Devlin can't wait to meet you!

Bold, curious and busy. Terriers were bred to hunt independently, which shows up as tenacity, a strong prey drive and a low tolerance for boredom. They are often more dog-selective than people-selective.
Moderate to high, and mental more than physical — 45-60 minutes plus digging, sniffing or puzzle outlets.
Their small size suits apartments well. Watch for barking at hallway noise and a strong interest in squirrels and rats.
