Ooooh Moose. SIGH. This gorgeous houndy boy has been with us for quite some time. He does not "show" well, because once he is comfortable in an environment and knows it as his home, he can be defensive and protective when meeting new people/strangers. Once he knows and trusts you (which doesn't take long at all), he is such terrific dog! He's housetrained, affectionate, happy, and playful. He loves to lay in the sun and loves being outdoors. He generally does well with other dogs, but does NOT share food or toys well, so that must be monitored. He just needs an special owner who understands how to introduce him to new people and lead him properly.
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
