Meet Eden — a lovely 4-year-old, ~13-lb chihuahua mix with a sweet, easygoing disposition. Eden found herself without a home and has been graciously cared for by our partner rescue in the Dallas area. Now, she's ready for her next chapter: a real home of her own in NYC.
Eden is both dog and human-friendly, and settles in easily around new faces. In her current environment she's used to a doggie door for relief, so she'll likely need some continued house-training as well as leash and basic obedience work in her forever home — nothing a little patience and consistency won't solve. Cats should be introduced slowly and thoughtfully, as with any new dog.
✈️ Journey to a forever home: Eden is flying from the Dallas area straight to us in NYC, arriving at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) on Thursday, July 30 around 6:00 PM.

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people. Chihuahuas are often wary of strangers and can be snappy if they were never taught that hands are safe — early gentle socialization matters.
Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
