Max is a lovable 3-year-old Goldendoodle who is looking for a family of his very own. This 60lb boy came to us after suffering a leg injury. Unfortunately, his previous family was unable to provide the medical care he needed and made the decision to surrender him so he could get the help he deserves.
Max is currently working with a physical therapist while in hopes that we can rebuild strengthen his front leg. We are hopeful for improvement, but there is still a possibility that amputation may be necessary. Because of his injury, Max likely won’t be your future hiking or running companion, but he will gladly be your devoted sidekick for everyday adventures and plenty of cuddles.
He adores people and is happiest when he’s by your side. Affectionate, gentle, and incredibly human-focused, Max has never met a stranger. He is well-behaved, crate trained, and non-destructive when left alone. He also has a playful, goofy side that will keep you smiling.
He can be reactive on leash and we’re not sure if it’s because of his injury or if he just needs to be an only . At this time, we believe he would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention for himself.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a huge heart and a gentle soul, Max may just be the perfect match for you.
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
