Maverick is a Gorgeous dog and so majestic in his nature. If you are a calm but assertive person looking for a wonderful dog companion, MAV could be your guy. Maverick was saved from a backyard where he was purchased to breed for profit. Thankfully that never happened but he did have several offspring. He was not kept in safe or sanitary conditions and we believe he is truly grateful to have been saved and taken out of a very sad and stressful young life. He is still only about 3 to 3.5 years old at most. Most of his young life he has had to make decisions. He kept the pack in order and not because he was trying to lead but because the puppies all flocked to him and looked to him for guidance and protection.
Maverick is now with a foster family that has relieved him of feeling like he has duties and he can now just be a dog. He has a playful side. He gets goofy. He is still very friendly with other dogs and kids but he is also perfectly content clocking out, relaxing and being a passenger. Independent, playful and famously stubborn. Huskies were bred to run for hours and are generally friendly with everyone — they make poor guard dogs and excellent escape artists.
Very high — 90+ minutes of real exertion daily. Under-exercised huskies dig, howl and escape.
One of the harder city breeds: vocal, high-energy, heat-sensitive and rarely reliable off leash. Needs an owner ready to run in the cold.
