Meet Ashley – The Timid but Tenderhearted Doberman
Ashley is a stunning 3-year-old Doberman with a gentle soul, pulled from Baldwin Park Shelter in hopes of finding a patient and loving home. While she’s timid and cautious, you can see in her eyes that she wants to trust—she just needs the right person to show her she’s safe.
Ashley thrives in open spaces and would love a home with a yard where she can soak in nature at her own pace. The streets still feel overwhelming to her, so she’s working on her confidence during walks. But once she feels comfortable, she’ll show you just how sweet and affectionate she can be.
One of her favorite things? Treats! She’s a pro at catching them mid-air, a little reminder that underneath her shyness is a playful pup waiting to shine. She can be around kids, but older, respectful children would be best as she continues to build confidence.
Ashley is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can blossom at her own pace. Could you be the one to help her feel safe and loved?
Intelligent, intensely loyal and strongly bonded to their person — Dobermans are often described as velcro dogs. They are naturally alert and watchful, which needs to be channeled through early socialization rather than suppressed.
High — 60-90 minutes daily plus training. A bored Doberman is an anxious Doberman.
Their size and reputation trigger breed restrictions in many buildings — check your lease before falling in love. Otherwise they are clean, quiet indoors and settle well.
