Don’t let his small size fool you—McIntosh Red is a brave little apple. The tiniest of the trio, he’s also the one who’s come the farthest in making furry friends. While he’s still shy with people, he’s learning that being held and loved doesn’t have to be scary.
He’s gentle, curious, and gaining confidence every day. McIntosh is now independent enough to go to a home of his own, especially if there’s a calm, friendly dog already there to help show him how good life can be.
He’d thrive in a peaceful, adult-only home with a private space to work on leash confidence and build trust slowly. With kindness and time, McIntosh Red will blossom into the loyal, loving pup he was always meant to be.
Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people. Chihuahuas are often wary of strangers and can be snappy if they were never taught that hands are safe — early gentle socialization matters.
Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
